New people are looking at your profile

"New people are looking at your profile."

Hi Reader!

Every once in awhile I get an email from LinkedIn with a subject line that says something along the lines of "People are taking interest in your profile" or "Check out who is looking at your profile."

Do you get those emails too?

At this point in time, I'm not super active on LinkedIn for my business so I always chuckle a little when I see this email come through.

Here's two important things you can take away from these LinkedIn emails.

  1. That's some pretty good marketing.
  2. People buy into people.

It kind of makes you want to log into your LinkedIn account and check it out right?

People want to know who you are.

That's why the About Page on your website ranks as the second most visited page. Mostly likely second to the home page because that's the page that loads first.

If potential clients are interested in what you have to offer, they want to get an idea of what it would be like to work with you.

They want to be reassured that you know what you're doing and that they can trust you with their investment.

It's an opportunity to sell yourself.

But it can be really tricky to figure out what you should say to make potential clients feel like they have found the right person.

If you wrote out your entire story from A to Z, including the sequence of events that led you to this point in time of writing the About Page, what would you want your audience to know about you?

You will want to look over your story and pick out the pieces that are relevant to how you help clients today.

What about your story will make you sound reliable and trustworthy?

Your About Page is also a great place to really show off your brand personality. You want to write your story in a way that makes it easy for people to picture what it may be like to work with you.

People feel a sense of comfort when they can connect and relate with your story.

They feel confident in your services when you've made it known that you understand what they are going through and that your services can help.

Where do you get stuck when it comes to your About Page? Email me and let me know!

Talk to you soon!

This is the MOST important lesson I've learned. Guess what Reader! My business officially has a shiny new visual brand AND a home on the internet! My website is live!
