Hey Reader!
We moved to a new home in a different town at the end of July last year and moving for me, is just the worse.
It takes forever to get everything unpacked! Then for days it just feels like everything is in complete chaos around the house.
And let's be honest - we've still got unpacked boxes in nooks and crannies of the house that probably won't get touched for years!
During one of these early days in the new house, I was flipping through the mail and saw this advertisement for a dental office.
Immediately, I took a picture of it with my phone because I knew I was going to want to talk about this advertisement at some point.
And now I can't find the picture on my phone. . . (wth??)
Thankfully someone else had a fascination with this advertisement too, snapped a picture, and shared it on Reddit.
It's such a perfect example of design and copy working together beautifully.
Imagine if the copy said something like:
CLEAN TEETH DENTISTRY!
Specializing in replacing missing teeth!
Call us today to schedule an appointment.
Would you have noticed the missing eyebrow? I wouldn't have, because I didn't notice until I read the copy.
To make your business stand out in a sea of advertisements, you have to grab their attention with the visual and connect with the copy.
Notice how this advertisement is subtly proving that point.
This copy directly speaks to people who might not love going to the dentist regularly and who would rather put it off. It speaks to how most people notice someone else's teeth first before anything else.
It's tapping into how people feel about the way they might look to others and how they may be perceived.
It's tapping into what's important to their ideal client.
Something that the Clean Teeth Dentistry copy does not.
More often than not, it's that they don't see why your service is important to them.
Did you notice the missing eyebrow? Let me know!
Talk to you soon!

So guilty, but I bet I'm not alone Isn't it so crazy how we all can get really get sucked into the weeds of our own business?! This is the MOST important lesson I've learned. Guess what Reader! My business officially has a shiny new visual brand AND a home on the internet! My website is live! If I can be vulnerable with you and share a little real talk, February was a short and challenging month for me. My bank account in January told me that I had a successful month. My bank account in February is singing a slightly different tune. The funny thing is, I still got new business in February. But because the tangible...
"New people are looking at your profile." Hi Reader! Every once in awhile I get an email from LinkedIn with a subject line that says something along the lines of "People are taking interest in your profile" or "Check out who is looking at your profile." Do you get those emails too? At this point in time, I'm not super active on LinkedIn for my business so I always chuckle a little when I see this email come through. Here's two important things you can take away from these LinkedIn emails....
